What makes Australian Manuka Honey unique?
Beekeeping with European honey bees began in Australia in the early 1800s, making it the first country to produce Manuka honey. A landmark study of 477 Australian honey samples found that over half had therapeutic antibacterial activity, with Leptospermum honeys showing especially high non-peroxide activity.
